Acupuncture has been known to provide pain relief and manage various types of pain. Here are some ways acupuncture can help with pain management:

1. Stimulates the release of endorphins and modulate pain perception: Acupuncture can stimulate the release of endorphins, which are natural pain-relieving chemicals in the body. These endorphins can help reduce pain and promote relaxation.

2. Improves blood circulation and reduce inflammation: Acupuncture can help improve blood circulation to the affected areas. This increased blood flow can promote healing, reduce muscle tension, and alleviate inflammation.

3. Balances energy flow: According to traditional Chinese medicine, pain is believed to be caused by an imbalance or blockage in the body's energy flow. Acupuncture aims to restore the balance of this energy by stimulating specific acupuncture points along the body's meridians.

"I saw Sarah following a cycling accident which, although thankfully resulted in no life changing injuries, did leave me with some quite extensive bruising and associated pain. Sarah listened carefully to my description of the pain and spent a great deal of time examining the injuries before administering her treatment. This included locating different points in my body connected to the target areas and applying pressure to alleviate the pain - which I can confirm it did! To help with the extensive bruising on my legs and ankles she repeatedly passed a ‘heat stick’ (I don’t recall the name!) around the bruising which successfully got the blood flowing again and hence lightened the appearance of the bruises. Coupled with her skills and expertise Sarah has a lovely calm, engaged manner which meant I felt totally safe and at ease I her capable hands. Thank you Sarah!"

"I came to Sarah with severe pain in my lower back and knee and having been prescribed various pain killers and physiotherapy. The first thing that struck me was how different this was to going to the doctor. Sarah's careful questioning and calm, reassuring approach gave me the time to think about the pain, its symptoms and triggers and the toll it was taking on me.  Also about my past medical and family history, my lifestyle and diet. After four sessions I am no longer in pain, not reliant on meds and sleeping better.  I cannot recommend Sarah highly enough."
